A written record is one of the most reliable methods of protecting a model railroad collection, regardless of the size or value. In case of loss, good records provide the necessary information for insurance claims and replacement. So when we set out to design our Model Railroad Inventory Record, we wanted a format that would not only accommodate useful hobby data, but also pertinent information that may be needed to insure, appraise and value a collection, in any scale.
To make it an even more worthwhile resource, our plan for a great product required versatility in the design of our Inventory Record so it would be practical to use at a layout or a desk. With space to enter information that is important for good record keeping, our Model Railroad Inventory Record also includes entries for information that is useful in operations like decoder addresses, for example.
Most of all, we wanted to publish a system to record model information that was clean, organized, user-friendly and functional whenever needed. With methods for easy entry and personal customization that fit a wide-range of modeling needs, we made our Model Railroad Inventory Record accessible to everyone, with sufficient technical entry fields to satisfy even the most ardent model railroad enthusiast. What we developed will likely be the last Inventory Record you’ll ever need.
